Hayward COVID-19 Testing Center
The Hayward Fire Department partnered with the Hayward Police Department and several organizations, including United Ambulance, Chabot College, Global Support and Development and nonprofit La Familia to support the testing site operationally.
Testing is available to anyone age 12 or older, regardless of place of residence or immigration status. No physician referral has ever been required.
The COVID-19 Testing Center was established to take pressure off hospital emergency rooms, provide quicker answers for recently exposed first responders and health care workers, and to enhance the region’s capacity to suppress new transmissions through isolation after testing.
Today, the Center remains a mainstay of COVID-19 testing in Alameda County and is outfitted to test up to 500 people a day. Currently, test results are available within 48 hours.
Current location:
The COVID-19 Testing Center is now located at Skywest Golf Course at 1401 Golf Course Road adjacent to Hayward Executive Airport.
Lines and screening will be regulated to maintain safe distancing, traffic control, and to not exceed the maximum number of appointments taken per day.
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Or until the maximum available tests for the day are exhausted. Closed Saturdays and Sundays.
How it works:
Advance registration and appointment is encouraged. Staff will also help you register on site you haven’t done so prior. During the registration process, you will need to provide a phone number and email address to log back into your account and view your results. When you arrive at the testing site, please wait for one of our staff to check you in, confirm or help you complete your registration, and begin the screening and testing process, which includes a swabbing of the nasal cavities. Swab samples are now analyzed by PerkinElmer diagnostics with test registration and results information managed by Color. Get more information about the COVID-19 Test.

**Please note, test results may be delayed due to high volume
Cost:
Hayward’s COVID-19 Testing Center does not charge a fee to users. To sustain operation, the Center does seek reimbursement of its costs from funds allocated for COVID-19 testing by federal, state and local goverment and secondarily from public and private health insurers.
Who can get tested?
Anyone age 12 or older, regardless of place of residence or immigration status or whether or not they have COVID-19 symptoms. No physician referral is required.
