Apply for Community Agency funding

The City of Hayward provides grants through the Community Agency Funding Program to private nonprofit and public social services agencies that serve lower income Hayward residents. Grants are available for Social Services, Infrastructure, Economic Development, Arts, Music annually through the Community Agency Funding Process.

Applications for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 funding will be available Monday, October 28, 2024 and applications will be due Monday, December 2, 2024. Application Process

To be eligible to receive these funds, applicants must meet a number of minimum application and contracting requirements.

The Community Agency funding process is highly competitive. Application materials will be released on October 28, 2024 and proposals are due December 2, 2024 at 5PM. Proposals are reviewed December through March by both staff and the Community Services Commission, and funds are awarded by City Council in April. Funded program activities begin in July. Below are the funded agencies for this previous year's funding cycle.

Notice of Funding Availability Posted

The Notice of Funding Availability funding for FY 2025-2026 was posted on September 28, 2024 and applications for funding will be due on December 2, 2024. The Notice included federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, City General Funds (subject to availability), and Measure B/BB Paratransit Funds for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. 

Bidder's Conference for FY 2025-26 Applicants on October 28, 2024

The Bidder's Conference for the FY25-26 funding cycle will take place on Monday, October 28 at 10AM and is mandatory for all prospective applicants. For more information on how to attend the Bidder's Conference, please reference the Notice of Funding Availability page.

On November 1, 2023, the City hosted a mandatory bidder's conference for all prospective applicants for all funding sources listed above. The Bidder's Conference is designed to acquaint the public, including applicants, with the application and decision-making process for the City's community agency funding grantmaking activities, including the funding process and program guidelines.
