Boards & Commissions
Volunteer service on the City's Commissions and Task Forces provides a way for residents to participate who have special experience or interest in the City’s decision-making process by advising the City Council and staff on a wide range of important topics.
Pursuant to Government Code Sections 54970-54974 (otherwise known as the Maddy Act), the list of all Board, Commission, and Task Force terms which expire in 2019 can be accessed here: Local Appointments List.
The current roster and number of vacancies for each meeting body is located on the respective individual page, under the “Boards & Commissions” menu.
Applications for service on any Commission or Task Force (Council's Appointed Officials) are valid for one year from the date of receipt and are a public record. Online application forms are located on the respective individual page, as well as information that describes duties, time commitments, and the number of vacancies.
In order to be eligible for appointment to any Commission or Task Force, a person shall be a qualified elector (registered voter) of the incorporated area of the City of Hayward.
HOW TO APPLY:
Interested individuals can apply online by clicking on the specific commission or task force of interest below. Hard copy applications are also available from the Office of the City Clerk, 777 B Street, Fourth Floor, Hayward, California 94541, or by calling (510) 583-4400 for further information. The application submission deadline is Friday, July 5, 2019. Interviews with the City Council are scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Qualified Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force applicants will be required to interview with the Task Force Subcommittee Panel on Friday, July 12, 2019.
