Free sand bags for inclement weather
When wet weather is expected, staff prepares sandbags for resident pick up. Up to six sand bags are available to Hayward households and twelve sand bags for Hayward businesses during rain storms, free of charge. Bring your ID — verification is required!
During inclement weather, the sandbags are located in front of the Hayward Animal Shelter at 16 Barnes Court. Loading assistance is available upon request during business hours. Call (510) 881-7745 during normal business hours (Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) to schedule a pick up. For after-hours assistance, please call the non-emergency Hayward Police line at (510) 293-7272.
