Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, is observed in Hayward with a downtown event, flag raisings, and exhibits and programs at Hayward Public Library throughout the month of June.
Celebrate summer by attending annual Summer Street Parties held on the third Thursday of June, July and August from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Hayward.
Families & aviation lovers are invited to this beloved event annually in September, which will feature a variety of entertainment for people of all ages. Admission and parking are free!
Hayward Public Library’s Trunk or Treat festival returns annually to Heritage Plaza, across from the Downtown Library, in October.
Light Up the Season, the annual downtown Hayward winter-time celebration and tree lighting ceremony, returns to the City Hall rotunda and plaza in December.
