New Regional Fire Training Center and Firehouse
The City of Hayward and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District celebrated the opening of a new campus dedicated to fire, rescue and emergency response training and education. The new $82 million campus was constructed with funding from Hayward Measure C sales tax revenue and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Measure A facility bond proceeds.

Hayward City Hall and Nonessential Services Closure: Friday, Jul. 3, 2026
Hayward City Hall will be closed, and nonessential municipal services will be paused Friday, Jul. 03, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. City Hall will reopen and municipal services will be restored to their regular schedule, Monday, Jul. 6. Specific information about departments, programs, and services during this period is provided below: Street Sweeping: No street-sweeping or citation enforcement will occur during the closure.
