State of the City
The State of the City is an update on the City of Hayward's progress meeting the opportunities and challenges of the day and a look forward into the future. It is delivered annually by Hayward's mayor at an event supporting the Hayward Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Hayward program and, by invitation, to meetings of other groups and organizations.
Mayor Barbara Halliday gave the annual State of the City presentation at the Hayward Public Library on June 23—her last as Mayor of the City of Hayward. The mayor presented the current progress on all six priorities which included updates on programs to tackle homelessness in Hayward, economic support for Hayward businesses, and new public safety initiatives.
