Induction Cooktops

Induction Cooktop Loaner Kit

Electric Induction Cooktops are a safer, more energy-efficient option for everyday stovetop cooking. They heat twice as fast and have better temperature control than a gas stove. Using an induction cooktop also eliminates a major source of air pollution in your home.

Want to test out an induction cooktop yourself?

The City of Hayward in partnership with Ava Community Energy (formerly known asEast Bay Community Energy) and Acterra are excited to announce that residents can check out a portable induction cooktop and cookware (see photo above) at no cost for up to two weeks! Residents can fill out this interest form and choose City Hall (777 B St.) as their preferred pickup location to get on the cooktop loan waiting list. After filling out the interest form, a representative will get back to you to schedule your cooktop loaner.

All residents who participate in the cooktop loaner program must sign a waiver. If you do not have access to a printer, a hardcopy will be available when you checkout your induction cooktop loaner.

Ava worked with Chef Reem Assil to share their shakshuka recipe and how they cook the recipe using an induction cooktop. You can find the shakshuka recipe here. And watch a video with her tips and tricks here:
