The meeting was intended to provide an opportunity for honest dialogue about police-community relations in Hayward. It was hosted by Advisory Panel members and Mayor Barbara Halliday, and facilitated by Police Chief Toney Chaplin and City Manager Kelly McAdoo.
The special event was held online rather in person due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency, and restrictions on public gatherings contained in the current Alameda County Health Officer shelter-in-place order.
