2026 Hayward State of the City address now available online
Hayward Mayor Mark Salinas delivered the annual State of the City address Thursday evening at the Hayward Unified School District Performing Arts Center at 2390 Panama Street in Hayward.
The mayor provided an update on the City’s progress on and the work still ahead to close a structural deficit in its General Fund budget that pays for core municipal services. He also highlighted accomplishments on a range of community priorities.
These included public safety and emergency response, disaster preparedness, roads and transportation, affordable housing and homelessness, maintenance and cleanliness of streets, sidewalks and parks, and economic opportunity, new investment and amenities.
The State of the City is an opportunity for Hayward community members to hear directly from their mayor on city government affairs. The annual event is now every March and is free and open to the public.
