Renovations coming to Hayward Public Library’s Weekes Branch, contractors invited to bid on project

Hayward Public Library’s Weekes Branch location will undergo renovations this fall, and contractors are invited to submit bids to perform work on the project.
The City of Hayward has authorized the use of federal Community Development Block Grant funds and special revenue sources to pay for the Weekes Branch improvements.
Exterior upgrades will include fencing and landscaping, and interior improvements will include painting, removal and replacement of old carpet, baseboards and window blinds, and removal and replacement of old furniture, bookshelves and shelving.
The City anticipates the closure of Weekes Branch during the renovation period, which will be announced once the dates are decided.
