Hayward Weekes branch library closed for facility improvements through March 2025
December 3, 2024
Hayward Public Library’s Weekes branch location is undergoing some refurbishing and will be closed through March 31, 2025, to carry out this needed work.
The project is being paid for through the City of Hayward’s annual allocation of federal Community Development Block Grant funds and other special revenue sources.
Exterior improvements will include fencing and landscaping surrounding the library. Interior improvements will include painting, removal and replacement of old carpeting, baseboards and window blinds, and replacement of old furniture, bookshelves and other shelving.
The meeting room will also get a facelift, and the library will be adding new audio-visual equipment to help with presentations.
During the closure period, Weekes library users are encouraged to visit the Downtown library location at 888 C Street in Hayward or utilize Hayward Public Library’s virtual branch, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at https://hayward-ca.gov/public-library.
