Fatal Collision – W Tennyson Rd/Baldwin St
HAYWARD, Calif., On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at approximately 6:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians in a crosswalk near the intersection of W. Tennyson Road and Baldwin Street.
Officers arrived and located all involved parties.
The driver, a 60-year-old adult male and Hayward resident, was still on scene when officers arrived. He was cooperative and provided a statement regarding the incident. The driver’s identity is not being released at this time.
The two pedestrians, a 59-year-old female adult and 6-year-old male were located at the scene of the collision suffering from injuries related to the collision. Medical personnel responded and transported both pedestrians to a nearby hospital where the adult female pedestrian later succumbed to her injuries. The male juvenile sustained facial fractures, is expected to survive, and has since been reunited with family members.
The male’s identity will not be released due to his status as a juvenile. The female’s identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification and formal identification by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
It is not believed drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision.
