Work on Hayward’s 21st Century Library and Heritage Plaza project has begun. The old main library will remain open for regular business throughout the upcoming 20 months of construction. Thanks to Hayward voters who approved Measure C funding in 2014, the project is fully funded and now under way. Hayward’s Trailblazing “Firehouse Clinic” Set to Open

(HAYWARD, CA) – The City of Hayward will host a grand opening ceremony on Friday, November 13, for its new South Hayward fire station and first-of-its-kind community health clinic. The ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m. and will include tours of the new Fire Station #7, Firehouse Clinic, and health screenings for local residents. Local leaders including Hayward Mayor Barbara Halliday, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell and Alameda County Supervisor Richard Valle will provide remarks at 2:00 p.m. The project is a collaboration among the City of Hayward, the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency (HCSA), and Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, Inc.

EPA’s annual Green Power Leadership Awards recognize the country’s leading green power users for their commitment and contribution to helping advance the development of the nation’s voluntary green power market. EPA presented the City’s Water Pollution Control Facility with an On-site Generation award at the 2015 Renewable Energy Markets Conference in Arlington, Virginia on October 19, 2015.
