Instant rebates on new e-bike purchases through Ava Community Energy
The Leaflet | November 2025

Ava Community Energy, a not-for-profit local government agency that is the primary supplier of electricity in Hayward and the rest of Alameda County, is offering instant rebates ranging from $400 to $1,500 on the purchase of new e-bikes and associated safety equipment.
To be eligible, applicants must be a customer of Ava Community Energy or simply a resident of Alameda County, 18 years of age or older, and able to show photo identification and proof of residence.
Ava Bike Electric instant rebate amounts vary based on the type of e-bike purchased and whether the buyer is participating in certain electricity assistance programs for income-qualified households. To participate, go to AvaElectric.org/bike-electric to be included in a monthly lottery through which instant rebate recipients will be chosen.
Ava Bike Electric instant rebates may be redeemed at the point of purchase at participating bike shops, including E-Cycle Path Hayward, located at 22510 Foothill Boulevard. To learn more about the program—and find a link to the online application and a list of participating bike shops—visit the program web page at AvaEnergy.org/bike-electric.
The City of Hayward is a member agency of Ava Community Energy. Supporting increased access to e-bikes aligns with the City’s goal of boosting active transportation—cycling, scootering, and walking—by 15 percent, a key strategy in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving community health.
