Significant Incidents
Possession of a Concealed Firearm by a Minor and Other Charges: On 12/02/2025 at 6:33PM, SDU (Special Duties Unit) Detectives conducted a traffic stop on C St and Grand St for a vehicle driving with no headlights during darkness. After contacting the juvenile driver (a non-Hayward resident), it was discovered he was in possession of marijuana (which was in plain view) and did not have a valid driver's license. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun with an extended magazine was located under the driver's seat. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Hayward PD for a juvenile booking. Case 2025-69424
Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Other Firearm Charges: On 12/02/2025 at 8:44PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop for vehicle violations on the 700 block of W. Tennyson Rd. The officer observes an open container of marijuana inside the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search. During the search, a black handgun was found. The driver (a Hayward resident), who was determined to be a convicted felon, was arrested for firearm charges. Case 2025-69457
Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Other Firearm Charges: On 12/02/2025 at 11:19PM, an officer was patrolling in the area of S. Garden Ave & West A St, where he conducted a traffic stop for vehicle violations. A consensual search of the vehicle revealed a handgun in the driver’s side door pocket. The driver (a non-Hayward resident) was discovered to be a convicted felon and was arrested for the charges. Case 2025-69491
Burglary: On 12/05/2025 at 4:58AM, the victim called from the 26000 block of Wauchula Way and told HPD she was watching a subject break into her garage through her video camera system. Officers arrived on scene, located the subject inside the victim’s garage, and arrested him for burglary. Case 2025-69919
