Significant Incidents
Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public: On 11/09/2025 at 12:57PM, an officer was in the 29600 block of Mission Blvd and noticed a vehicle illegally parked in a handicap parking stall. He contacted the driver (non-Hayward resident) and learned he was on Post Release Community Supervision from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun, and two types of controlled substances. The suspect was arrested without incident. Case 2025-64744
Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon: On 11/10/2025 at 5:57PM, HPD responded to the 600 block of W Harder Rd (Restaurant) regarding a robbery involving two victims. The victims were at a bank on Southland Drive and believe they were followed to the restaurant. After they parked, subject 1 pointed a handgun at Victim 1, ordering him to give up his money. Subject 2 pistol whipped victim 2 while ordering her to give up her money. The suspects stole a large sum of money, some jewelry, and fled the scene. Victim 2 sustained an injury but declined medical treatment. Officers are reviewing leads; the investigation is ongoing. Case 2025-64976
Possession of an Assault Weapon and Possession / Transportation of a Machine Gun: On 11/14/2025 at 7:14PM, Special Duties Unit Detectives conducted a traffic stop at Winton Ave and Dotson Ct for vehicle code violations. The driver (Non-Hayward resident) was found to be unlicensed and admitted to possessing marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted where a loaded full auto assault rifle was located. The driver and the front seat passenger (Non-Hayward Resident) were placed under arrest and transported to HPD jail. Case 2025-65929
Sideshow Activity: On 11/15/2025 at 11:28PM, Officers were sent to Huntwood Ave/Leidig Ct regarding twenty vehicles involved in sideshow activity and diverted them out of the area without further incident. Case 2025-66167
