Project Objectives

California has mandated that all new passenger vehicles sold in the state must be zero emission by 2035.  California’s goal is to have 5 million EV’s on the road by 2030 and the Bay Area is leading the way. To support statewide efforts, the City of Hayward needs to install at least 150 EV Chargers. This project will benefit nearby businesses and residents by providing EV charging facilities in the Downtown area and will benefit renters who may not have access to at-home charging.

Project Schedule

This Project is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2026.
