Real Estate Division
The Real Estate Division, operating under the City Manager's Office, manages and oversees the City of Hayward’s portfolio of real property assets to support efficient operations, fiscal responsibility, and community goals.
The Division is responsible for the stewardship of City-owned land, buildings, and leasehold interests, and provides real estate services including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing and licensing, appraisals, negotiations, and due diligence. Working collaboratively with City departments and external partners, the Division supports redevelopment efforts, public-private partnerships, and capital projects while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including the California Surplus Land Act.
Through strategic management of the City’s real estate holdings, the Division helps maximize public value and long-term benefits for the Hayward community.
