The Hayward Executive Airport will host an open house on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families and aviation lovers are invited to this free event, which will feature a variety of entertainment options for people of all ages.
This year’s open house will feature aircraft displays, local agencies and their equipment, and classic cars. Restaurants and vendors will be onsite selling food and drinks, and over 50 exhibitors will be on hand, from local colleges to community organizations like the Civil Air Patrol, Women in Aviation, and the Young Marines. There will also be a bicycle valet if you would like to pedal to the event.
Discounted airplane rides will be provided from a few of our local flight schools. The rides feature a panoramic view and a chance to see what flying an airplane is all about.
The airport started hosting its annual open house in 2012, and popularity quickly grew. Last year’s event drew over 14,000 residents from Hayward and other East Bay communities.
Admission and parking for the open house are free. More information can be found at https://haywardairportopenhouse.com/.
