NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the current Voluntary Expenditure Limit per candidate established for the City of Hayward is adjusted by 3.00%, a percentage equal to the San Francisco Bay Area All Urban Consumers Price Index (CPI). The 2018 Voluntary Expenditure Limit is calculated to be $72,627.

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Hayward Municipal Code Section 2-13.04, if a Candidate accepts the adjusted Voluntary Expenditure Limit, then he/she is entitled to accept the established contribution limit of $1,000 per individual. Since 2006, this contribution amount has been adjusted and in 2017 increased to $1,383 per individual. The contribution limit for 2018 per individual is $1,424.

IN ADDITION, NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Hayward Municipal Code Section 2-13.03, if a Candidate does not accept the adjusted Voluntary Expenditure Limit, then he/she is limited to the established contribution limit of $250 per individual. Since 2006, this contribution amount has been adjusted and in 2017 increased to $332 per individual. The contribution limit for 2018 per individual, if the voluntary expenditure limit is not accepted, is $340.
