Hayward Electricity Accounts Will Transition to 100% Renewable Energy in January 2022

November 23, 2021

In January 2022, Hayward customers served by East Bay Community Energy (EBCE) will transition to energy that is 100 percent renewable, sourced entirely from California solar and wind energy.

Switch to Renewable 100 Today: All accounts not enrolled in discount programs (such as CARE, FERA, or Medical Baseline) will be automatically enrolled in the Renewable 100 product in January, but customers can also switch to Renewable 100 today to start getting 100 percent renewable energy even sooner. Renewable 100 will result in a $4 to $5 increase in most customers’ monthly bills.

Switch to Bright Choice Today: Bright Choice is sourced from a power mix including 33 percent renewable energy and has a slightly lower price than PG&E. Customers may switch to the Bright Choice product at any time.

For more information on changing your electricity product, visit www.EBCE.org/Hayward or call EBCE at 833-699-EBCE (3223) to speak with a representative directly. Customers can also choose to opt out of EBCE and return to PG&E service on this webpage.

Discount Programs: Customers on income-related (e.g. CARE or FERA) or Medical Baseline discount programs will automatically remain on Bright Choice service. To learn if you are eligible for any of these programs, visit www.EBCE.org/Paying-Bills/.

Webinars: EBCE will host a series of webinars to review the upcoming changes and answer questions.
