Significant Incidents

Warrant Service: On 3/10/2021, at 4:30 AM, Hayward’s Special Response Unit (SWAT Team) served an arrest and search warrant in the 100 block of Burbank St. The suspect was safely taken into custody. (Report #2021-012577)

Carjacking: On 3/12/2021, at 6:31 AM, a carjacking occurred in the 400 block of C St. A man forced his way into the victim’s vehicle. Once the victim exited; the suspect drove off. He was later located and arrested by another agency. (Report #2021-013001)

Robbery: On 3/13/2021, at 12:13 PM, officers responded to the 22000 block of Foothill Blvd. for report of a robbery. The suspect entered a bank and stole cash. He fled prior to police arrival and was not located. (Report #2021-013265) 

Robbery:  On 3/13/2021, at 2:37 PM, a robbery occurred in the 600 block of Gleneagle Ave. Two women were unloading groceries when the suspect approached and stole their purses. He quickly fled and was not located. (Report #2021-013295)

Criminal Threats/Evading a Peace Officer: On 3/13/2021, at 4:06 PM, officers responded to the 300 block of Jackson St. for report of an armed robbery. After initially fleeing on foot, the suspect then got out of the vehicle and ran. Officers were able to locate and arrest him. A loaded firearm was found inside his car. (Report #2021-013312)
