Death Investigation – 2500 block of Depot Rd

HAYWARD, Calif., On July 26, 2025, at approximately 8:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible domestic violence incident at an apartment complex located in the 2500 block of Depot Road.

Reporting parties advised there was a loud argument between a male and female in a nearby unit, along with sounds of items being thrown in the apartment.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 25-year-old-female in a stairwell of the building. The female informed officers she had been physically assaulted by the male, who was later determined to be her boyfriend, and she had stabbed him in self-defense.

The female individual was cooperative and provided a statement regarding the incident. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation and clearance. Her identity is not being released at this time.

Officers located and entered the apartment and discovered the 30-yer-old male unresponsive, suffering from a stab wound. He was immediately moved to the hallway, where officers began life-saving efforts.

Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced the male deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim is currently being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. 

There is currently no one in custody for this incident.
