Happy Fourth of July from Hayward PD

July 4, 2023

From all of us at Hayward PD, we would like to wish you a safe and Happy 4th of July.

A few reminders during today’s festivities:

We want everyone to celebrate the holiday in a safe and peaceful way. Please be considerate of your neighbors who may have loved ones suffering from Post Traumatic Stress, sleeping infants and children, the elderly who may have health considerations, and even anxious pets. We ask you make the conscious decision to not light fireworks in Hayward, especially the dangerous aerial and explosive varieties.

If you see illegal fireworks in your neighborhood, you can report them in three ways. Due to the high call volume during this holiday, however, we ask that you utilize the Access Hayward App whenever possible to report illegal fireworks. Our dispatch lines should remain available for emergency/9-1-1 calls and we appreciate your consideration in keeping those lines open.

To report illegal fireworks through the Access Hayward App, please click the following link and follow the prompts on the page: ACCESS HAYWARD (govoutreach.com)

If you are unable to use Access Hayward, you may report illegal fireworks by phone to Code Enforcement at 510-583-4143 or the Police Non-Emergency line at 510-293-7000. Please provide your name, phone number, and exact location of the illegal fireworks.

To report a fire resulting from fireworks or any other emergency, call 9-1-1.

Lastly, we would like to recognize those in the City of Hayward who are working this 4th of July. The Streets Division, Code Enforcement, Fire Department, our incredible Dispatchers, all our Patrol Officers, and so many more… Their commitment to keeping Hayward safe, holiday or not, does not go unnoticed.
