Fatal Collision – Tennyson Rd/Calaroga Ave

HAYWARD, Calif., On Monday, 2/10/2025, at approximately 07:53 a.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue.
Officers arrived and located the driver and pedestrian still on scene.
The pedestrian, a 26-year-old female and Hayward resident, was found unresponsive and had sustained major injuries related to the collision. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver, a 36-year-old male and non-Hayward resident, was detained on scene. The driver is currently being treated at a nearby hospital and was placed on a mental health hold by officers on scene.
The identity of the pedestrian is currently being withheld pending formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
Investigative steps are being completed to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
