Library Happenings: August and September
There is a lot happening at your Hayward Public Library this August! Check out these great events and activities:
Aug. 21, 2 p.m. | Online Tea Tasting with Library Director Jayanti Addlemen:
Are you a tea fancier? Do you enjoy trying new teas and discussing the various nuances of the brew? Would you like to learn more about tea?
Come join Library Director and tea aficionado Jayanti Addleman online to try four different teas.
You provide the cup and hot water, we'll provide the tea bags and tea evaluation cards: just come by the library after registering online to pick up your Tea Tasting Kit.
Aug. 21, 12 p.m. | Lawyer in the Library Phone Appointments:
The Lawyer in the Library program is a free legal information and referral program hosted by the Hayward Public Library and staffed by a volunteer lawyer. In a one-on-one telephone appointment, the lawyer can answer questions on most legal topics. If legal help is required, people are referred to other agencies.
Appointments usually run for about 10-15 minutes. Due to limited availability, we can only make one appointment per month per person or family.
To request an appointment, send your phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 510-881-7980.
* Please do not send any confidential information in your email. Library staff will get back to you within three business days.
This program is co-sponsored by Alameda County Bar Association, Legal Access Alameda.
Sept. 29, 4 p.m. | Teen Book Club: Theme TBA
The Teen Book Club is back! Stay tuned to hear what our September theme is. Read any book that fits our theme and join us via Zoom at the end of the month to discuss what you read and hear from other teen readers.
All teens ages 13 to 18 are welcome.
Registration required. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants 24 hours before the event.
