Help the City of Hayward celebrate Earth Day at the Annual Citywide Cleanup and Community Fair on April 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Weekes Park.
Together, we will pick up litter and debris across several neighborhoods before returning to the park for a free lunch catered by El Taquito.
Since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated worldwide on April 22 to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage sustainability. This year’s cleanup on April 25 offers a chance for community members to act on those principles here in Hayward.
Volunteer check-in will begin at 8 a.m. near Weekes Park Community Center and the litter pickup will begin at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers will return to the park around 10:30 a.m. to hand back in equipment and enjoy lunch and a community tabling fair.
Closed-toed shoes, sun protection and reusable water bottles are highly recommended. Advance registration is available through the City of Hayward website at https://www.hayward-ca.gov/your-environment/earth-day.
