About the Contest

60% of Hayward households have responded to the 2020 Census. Help us get that number to 100%. For every Hayward resident who completes the 2020 Census, the community receives $1,000 every year for the next ten years. These funds pay for health and social services and create education and employment opportunities for you and your neighbors.

The City of Hayward, Hayward Unified School District, and Chabot College are excited to partner on this citywide art contest to get the word out about the importance of completing the 2020 Census.

We are looking for artwork that:

  1. Is visually fun and colorful
  2. Conveys the importance of completing the 2020 Census
  3. Shows Hayward pride

Make your art using digital software, or make it by hand and take a photo.

Lawn signs are 24 inches wide and 18 inches tall. Winning art may be cropped to fit these dimensions.  Please note, by submitting art to this contest, you are allowing the City of Hayward to use your art on its social media platforms.
