The City of Hayward is now offering enhanced non-English language interpretation services at all open-session meetings of the City Council.

Simultaneous interpretation for Spanish speakers begins tonight at a special City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at Matt Jimenez Community Center, 28200 Ruus Road.  Simultaneous interpretation services for all other languages can be scheduled upon request.

To ensure interpreters for languages other than Spanish are available, requests must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Office of the City Clerk at (510) 583-4400.

City Council meetings generally are held the first, third and fourth Tuesday of each month starting at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 777 B Street.  The schedule of upcoming City Council meetings and published meeting agendas can be found on the City of Hayward website at https://hayward.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.

As an additional service, people needing to conduct business with or obtain assistance from the City of Hayward in languages other than English will be assisted by bilingual and multilingual City employees.
