Special holiday schedule this week for No-Contact Food Distribution Program

November 22, 2020

The weekly City of Hayward No-Contact Food Distribution program will occur Tuesday, Nov. 24, this week, rather than its usual day of the week, Thursday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The food distribution will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, or until supplies run out, at Parking Lot J at Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Blvd.

The event is drive-through and walk-ups are discouraged.  People attending to receive food are asked to remain in their vehicles with windows up and trunk or truck bed open.  Volunteers will place boxes of food in the trunk or truck bed.

A COVID-19 response project of the City, in partnership the Alameda County Community Food Bank and Chabot College, the weekly Food Distribution program has operated for 30 consecutive weeks since April 30.

It has provided a total of 884,027 pounds of food to 16,648 families at its current Chabot and prior Skywest Golf Course locations—and to an additional 7,695 families elsewhere.
