Join us for a green and vibrant day at the Homegrown in Hayward Event, a Hayward People's Budget event! This community event is perfect for garden enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to add a little more green to their life!
 
Activities Include:
  • Pot Painting*: Show your creativity! Paint and personalize your own terracotta pot. All materials will be provided, and you get to take your creation home—perfect for your new plant!
  • Plant Giveaway*: Expand your home garden with a new plant friend! We have a variety of plants: tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, and tomatillo.
  • Compost Giveaway*: Ready to enrich your garden? Grab a free compost bag to help your plants thrive.
  • Wildflower Seed Activity*: Create a sensory seed ball that you can toss in a bare area in your garden and watch your garden explode with color!

Visit the Master Gardeners' table to answer all your gardening questions and help you get the best out of your garden! There will also be live demonstrations from Master Gardeners every hour! 12:00pm "Container Vegetable Gardening"  Many vegetables can thrive in containers. Learn the do’s and don’ts of growing vegetables in containers - including specifics on soil, sun, container types, water, and plants to select.
