In order to provide a clear focus for district programs, activities and operations, the Governing Board shall adopt a long-range vision that sets direction for the district which is focused on student learning and describes what the Board wants its schools to achieve.

The mission of the Hayward Unified School District is to promote educational excellence by empowering students to become dynamic leaders in a global society. Students will be prepared, challenged, and motivated in a 21st Century learning environment that develops the physical, intellectual, and emotional success of all learners.
