Career Vision is a popular and well-received workshop where presenter Jamie Beck exposes how poorly our first 18 years of life prepare us for choosing a career and our current and future job searches.

Through her innovative strategies, common sense, and questioning of the societal “THEYs,” Beck provides a refreshing look at an age-old problem of going to work for a paycheck, living for the weekend, and suffering from Monday morning anxiety.

Beck shares her personal stories, failures, and experiences, and lets participants make their own rules. She encourages job seekers to take control of their lives and change their resume, situation, and future. Audiences identify with her honesty and feel safe talking about their own past and current realities as they explore Career Vision.

Traditional career counselors and workforce professionals who attend this workshop find themselves taking notes frantically as they participate and watch job seekers, students, and career changers willingly sit through six hours of lecture, laughing, crying, and identifying with the concepts addressed.

Space is limited and preregistration for this popular, free workshop is recommended. To register or for more information please go to bit.ly/hpl-career or contact Sally Thomas at Sally.Thomas@hayward-ca.gov or 510-881-7700
