Celebrate National Night Out!
National Night Out (NNO) will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in neighborhoods throughout Hayward and the nation. This event gives neighbors an opportunity to join together in a combined effort to:
Increase crime prevention and awareness
Generate support and participation in local neighborhood watch programs
Strengthen the partnership between the community and police
Neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of events ranging from small potlucks and BBQ’s to large block parties. Some additional event ideas include, but are not limited to, ice cream socials, disaster preparedness classes, games, contests, discussing neighborhood issues or setting neighborhood goals, food or clothing donations, a neighborhood clean-up and beautification day, discuss or plan a Neighborhood Watch Program.
Register your neighborhood for this year’s event before July 22, 2019. Registration is free and gives police and other city representatives an opportunity to attend local events. You do NOT have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone!
