Hayward Public Library is in the process of creating a new strategic plan to serve you even better and needs your help.

Would you like to see the library open more convenient hours? Is there additional technology you would like to see in the library? What are your favorite library programs to bring children to? Do you simply not use the library because you think there is nothing there for you? Do you feel safe at the library?

Whatever your feedback, this is your chance to make sure you are heard.

Much has changed since the new Downtown Library opened in 2019 and during the three years of the pandemic. Though the library has gradually returned to pre-pandemic levels of service, many new opportunities lie ahead. We have new spaces, technology and programs. We also know there is much room for improving, especially at the Weekes branch. Hayward Public Library would like to make sure that programs, services, library materials and hours reflect the needs and aspirations of our community. We would like to hear from users as well as non-users.

It will take you approximately seven minutes to complete the survey—which is available until April 14—and your responses will be anonymous. With your answers, we will be able to take your opinion into consideration as we plan for the next three to five years. Links to take the survey in English, Spanish or Chinese are available here on the City of Hayward website at https://www.hayward-ca.gov/public-library.
