CASE SYNOPSIS

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY/SHOOTING: On 04/08/2024 at 2:36 AM, officers responded to the report of a community member interrupting an auto burglary near the 31000 block of Carroll Ave. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. The victim/community member advised that one of the suspects fired a single gunshot prior to fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The victim was not injured during the incident. No evidence of a shooting was located at the scene. (Report #: 2024-019107)  

RECOVERED FIREARM On 04/10/2024 at 1:22 PM, officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Underwood Ave and Inglewood St for a vehicle code violation. A record check of the driver revealed he did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver was detained, and a handgun was recovered inside the car. The driver was placed under arrest. (Report #: 2024-019513) 

ATTEMPTED CARJACKING On 04/10/2024 at 11:18 PM, the victim was standing outside his vehicle near the 500 block of Shepherd Ave when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect demanded the victim give the suspect money and his vehicle and the victim refused. The suspect assaulted the victim and fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim received medical treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. (Report #: 2024-019703) 

RECOVERED FIREARM On 04/11/2024 at 11:30 AM, officers conducted a parole search near the 24000 block of Oneil Ave. Four adults were detained at the residence, and, during a parole search, a ghost gun was recovered. All four were arrested for various warrants and/or weapons charges. (Report #: 2024-019782) 

CARJACKING: On 04/12/2024 at 11:55 AM, the victim was sitting in her parked vehicle near the 19000 block of Hesperian Blvd when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect used force and took property from the victim and demanded she exit the car. Out of fear, she got out of the car and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Officers responded and the car was located, unoccupied, a short distance away. (Report #: 2024-019978)
