Streets Maintenance
The Streets Maintenance Division includes the Streets Maintenance Program, Traffic Program, Street Sweeping Program, and Stormwater Maintenance Program.
Maintaining the streets is a crucial component of protecting the City's investment in infrastructure, and the Streets Division is committed to increasing the longevity of our throughways through cleanliness and regular maintenance. Street Maintenance protects the public’s health and safety, keeping city streets and sidewalks clean, lit, and in good repair. The division removes illegal dumping and graffiti, improving the appearance and cleanliness of the city, and provides support to neighborhood and community groups -- including Adopt-A-Block and the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force -- that do the same.
Additionally, the Streets Division provides support for major capital improvement projects in the City.
