Fatal Collision – Depot Road/Adrian Avenue

HAYWARD, Calif., On Friday, 05/09/2025, at approximately 10:19 a.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and motorized bicycle near the intersection of Depot Road and Adrian Avenue.

Officers arrived and located all involved parties still on scene.

The driver, a 35-year-old adult male and non-Hayward resident who was still on scene when officers arrived, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision.  The driver was cooperative and provided a statement regarding the incident. The driver's identity is not being released at this time.

The bicyclist, a 64-year-old male and Hayward resident, was located at the scene of the collision suffering from injuries related to the collision. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The bicyclist identification is being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.

It is not believed drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision.
