Temporary traffic delays anticipated at Jackson Street intersections starting Monday, June 24
The City of Hayward will begin upgrading traffic signals at five intersections on and adjacent to Jackson Street, a project that will result in temporary traffic delays over a three-week period starting Monday, June 24.
The intersections involved are Jackson Street and Amador Street/Cypress Avenue, Jackson Street and Soto Road, Jackson Street and Grand Street, Grand Street and Winton Avenue, and Jackson Street and Meek and Silva avenues.
The project entails the installation of new video detection cameras and the updating of traffic control boxes that ultimately will improve traffic circulation and relieve congestion in the area. However, the work will require lane closures and temporary loss of vehicle detection, resulting in temporary delays. Community members are advised to plan accordingly.
