Cooling centers & heat emergencies
When the temperature is going to be over 100 degrees on any given day, or the temperature is estimated to be over 95 degrees for three consecutive days, Hayward Cooling Centers may be activated.
Summer months bring fun, sun, and heat! Sometimes, the heat can become dangerous, especially for children, seniors, people who are homeless, people who work outside, and people with certain health conditions. Staying safe in high heat is important. When a local heat emergency has been declared, we will share information with the community via social media, our official e-newsletter, The Stack and AC Alert.
