Request copies of police reports
Most requests will be filled within 10 working days. To get a Police Report, complete and submit a Request for Police Report either by mail or in person to:

Reports are to be picked up in person during business hours Monday – Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., closed weekends and holidays, at the Hayward Police Department.
The following fees are charged as outlined in the Master Fee Schedule:
- Vehicle Accident Reports - $16.00
- All Other Report - $16.00
- Clearance Letters - $43.00 (given only if the requestor has not been arrested in the City of Hayward, and has lived in Hayward for the past six months or longer
- Towed Vehicle Release - $235.00
Under the guidelines of Government Code, Section 6254, some reports are not released in their entirety and others may not be released at all.
