Hayward Public Library’s Trunk or Treat event returns Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Heritage Plaza, across the street from the Downtown Library — and this year will be bigger than ever. All are invited. Dress in costume or come as you are but, most importantly, have fun.

There will be free face painting, bubbles, crafts and activities for kids, free food, a rock-climbing wall, a chalk walk and, of course, Halloween treats for kids. Attendees can enjoy performances by acts like Hayward High Cheer, Winton Middle School Folklorico, Danza Mexica Cherryland and Generation Music and Arts.

The City of Hayward will close Watkins Street and part of C Street, and AC Transit will reroute bus lines down Atherton Street, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, to make space for the festivities.

Trunk or Treat is presented in conjunction with Hayward Promise Neighborhoods’ Promise Fest. Hayward Promise Neighborhoods is a collaborative partnership led by Cal State East Bay, focused on educational success from cradle-to-career in Hayward. The Promise Fest celebrates the partnership’s decade of service to the community and the expansion of services to the Downtown area.
