National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
It’s also the perfect chance to get to know your neighbors better!
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.
National Night Out kicks-off on Monday, July 25, with our annual Car-a-van!
Join friends, neighbors, public safety officers and public officials at Southland Mall on Monday, July 25, at 5:00 p.m. for our annual National Night Out Kick-off Car-a-van! This event is a planned car-a-van style route with a police escort throughout residential neighborhoods and is intended to bring awareness to the community about National Night Out.
No pre-registration required to join.
Details about the route and participants will be posted soon.
National Night Out 2022 is on Tuesday, August 2 from 6 - 9 p.m.
Neighborhoods are invited to participate by hosting a variety of events ranging from small potlucks and BBQ’s to large block parties. Some additional event ideas include, but are not limited to, ice cream socials, disaster preparedness classes, games, contests, discussing neighborhood issues or setting neighborhood goals, food or clothing donations, a neighborhood clean-up and beautification day, discuss or plan a Neighborhood Watch Program.
You can also show your support by leaving your porch light on between 7 - 10 p.m.
Register your neighborhood for this year’s event before Friday, July 22. Registration is free and gives police and other city representatives an opportunity to attend local events. You do NOT have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone!
