Teen Activity Zone - Drop by the Main Library to play games, make crafts, enjoy snacks, and just hang out with you friends. Every Wednesday during the school year, 1:15-3:00 p.m.

Teen Advisory Group - Want a say in how the library works for you? Plan teen events, choose books & movies, and more, while getting community service hours for school. Open to grades 7-12. Email Annie (Main Library) or Rob (Weekes Branch) for more information.

Teens Take Over & After-Hours Programs - When the library closes,the fun begins! Our teens-only after hours programs feature big-screengaming, karaoke, dancing, DIY projects, and more! Check our calendar or email Rob for more information.

Volunteer at the Library - Help our librarians and earn community service hours for school!

  • Student Friends (June - August): Assist children with the Summer Reading Challenge and other library programs.
  • Children's Room Helper (Sept - May) - Other projects for student volunteers may be available throughout the year. Bring your completed student volunteer application to the Main Library or Weekes Branch for more information.

Live Homework Help - Connect with live tutors for homework assistance and college prep available every day from 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Homework Support Center - Free homework assistance at the Main Library, Weekes Branch, and participating Hayward schools.Homework Support Centers are located at:
