Overview
- Registration required. Fill out the General Interest Form to begin the enrollment process.
- Learn parts of speech, sentence structures, verb tenses, and more through lectures, online exercise, speaking practice, and many more fun activities.
- Receive free textbooks, school supplies, and a backpack to assist with your studies.
- Attend all eight sessions to receive a certificate of completion from the City of Hayward.
*Please note: This is a series of classes and not a drop-in program. Learners must attend all eight classes to participate.

Beginner I: Tuesdays 9 am - 10 am
Intermediate I: Tuesdays 10 am - 11 am
Advanced I: Thursdays 9 am - 10 am
Spring II: 5/2/23 - 6/22/23
Beginner II: Tuesdays 9 am - 10 am
Intermediate II: Tuesdays 10 am - 11 am
Advanced II: Thursdays 9 am - 10 am
Grammar Curriculum
Beginner I: Parts of Speech, The verb "Be", Simple present verb tense
Beginner II: Parts of Speech, Time & Place Prepositions, There be structure, Pronouns (subject. objects, possessive)
Intermediate I: Parts of Speech, Past and Future Verb Tenses, Conjunctions, Compound sentences
Intermediate II: Parts of Speech, Comparatives & Superlatives, Gerunds & Infinitives, Nouns & Articles
Advanced I: Parts of Speech, Modals, Adjective Clauses, Present Perfect Verb Tense
Advanced II: Passive Voice, Noun Clauses, Past Perfect Verb Tense
