Youth & Family Services Bureau
The Youth & Family Services Bureau is a unique part of the Hayward Police Department where mental health and other social service providers offer a variety of prevention and intervention services to meet the needs of Hayward families.
In partnership with law enforcement and Hayward schools, the Youth and Family Services Bureau works to ensure that Hayward’s diverse youth and families feel safe, supported, and connected. For more than 45 years, YFSB has led the way in integrating social services with law enforcement and remains committed to bridging the gap between mental health, public safety, and the community.
Services are provided in English and Spanish at no cost, and regardless of immigration status.
The programs and services offered by YFSB include:
- Family Counseling, Crisis Intervention and Case Management
- School-Based Counseling Program
- Youth Diversion Program
- Police Explorer Program
