Box Culverts for Infield Segments of Sulphur Creek

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (NEPA) (42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq.), Council on Environmental Quality NEPA implementing regulations (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order 1050.1F, notice is hereby given that the City of Hayward proposes to implement the Hayward Executive Runway Safety Enhancement Project (Proposed Action) for Hayward Executive Airport (HWD). The Proposed Action includes construction of box culverts for infield segments of Sulphur Creek to enhance safety and infield drainage improvements at HWD.

A Final Environmental Assessment of the economic, social, and environmental impacts of the proposed development has been prepared and a Finding of No Significant Impact has been issued by the FAA. The Proposed Action has the potential to adversely affect 0.19 acres of wetlands. The potential impacts to wetlands are described in the Final Environmental Assessment.
