Detention Facility - Jail

Hayward Police Detention Facility is a Board of Corrections certified Type I jail. It operates 24 hours per day, housing up to 30 prisoners. The facility processes all arrests for the city of Hayward and other agencies by contract, registrant processing and public fingerprinting, but not immigration finger-printing.

Additional Services:

  • Registrant processing – Sex, Arson & Drug registrants -By Appointment only (effective July 16, 2012).
  • Court-ordered booking – Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This full booking process involves photographing, fingerprinting and identification checks through the County system.
  • Public fingerprinting (not immigration fingerprinting) – Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A picture ID is required. The cost is $23 plus D.O.J fees

Visitation:

Visitation of those in custody is conducted via a video link system and is available to adults over the age of 18 and minor children of inmates when accompanied by a parent or qualified adult guardian. Visitors are subject to a background check and must have a valid form of government-issued picture identification. Visitation is limited to 20 minutes and is subject to availability according to inmate processing.

Inmate visitation – available daily from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
