Airport Facts & History

A former WWII fighter base, the airport is situated on 543 acres with two parallel runways of 5,694 and 3,107 feet each. Over 400 aircraft are based at the airport from single-engine airplanes to sophisticated corporate jets. Aviation products and services are provided by 40 support companies.

The Hayward Executive Airport is also home to a thriving business community and a growing ecosystem of aviation-related companies.
Council Airport Committee

The Council Airport Committee monitors the performance of the Hayward Executive Airport and reviews and suggests policies related to airport operation and development. The committee meets quarterly on the 4th Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Airport Administration Building.

Master Plan

The Airport Master Plan is an assessment of current and forecast airport activity, facility requirements, and a review of various alternatives at Hayward Executive Airport.

The official rules and regulations adopted on December 18, 2007 by the Hayward City Council govern all aspects of airport operations.
